We were able to finally mail a care package to our son in China last week. Hopefully it will arrive there soon! I know lots of people wonder what others have included in their care package, so here is my list:
For Xi Yao Yu:
a stuffed dog that I won at the State Fair, which we slept with for several weeks, and I dabbed with my perfume and sealed in a Ziploc
a photo album that I made at Shutterfly.com with Chinese stickers explaining what the photos are
a Thomas the train tub squirty toy that was Sebastian's but he never played with
some stickers
For the other children
stickers
For the staff
postcards of NM
chocolate American money coins
red chile pistachio nuts, made here in NM
For the Director of the Orphanage
a hot air balloon key chain that says "Albuquerque" with a moving balloon piece (made in China)
Two disposable cameras: one which we hope will be used to take photos of our son, and one for the orphanage.
Believe it or not, this all fit in a shoebox, and cost $23 to mail through USPS. I sent it to the China contact for Blessed Kids, who will add a translated letter that I wrote, and send it on for us. My letter included about 8 questions about our son that we asked to have answered, such as, "what does he like to eat? is he afraid of anything?"
We leave for China one week from tonight!!!!!

That's great, I didn't know you could send your own items with BK.
Counting the days down with you!!
